Parkhotel Adler in Hinterzarten, Black Forest
History forms the core of the hotel concept – preserving this heritage is the role of Katja Newman, the 16th generation of the family to run the exclusive boutique resort. One of her ancestors acquired the site with the estate near the local church, more than 575 years ago. Rented accommodation was offered from the very outset. Guests from all over the world stay in rooms and suites recently refurbished in a chic, modern, vintage style. Thanks to the newly redesigned areas such as the lobby with bar and view of the park, children’s indoor play area and an additional, fashionable restaurant space, the hotel also exudes a new sense of glamour. The historic areas in the restaurant, such as the hall for the breakfast buffet, the “Stube” and the “Wirtshus”, have been preserved – these are located in the historic “Black Forest House” (Schwarzwaldhaus) dating from 1639, such an idyllic place for guests to sit beneath the flower-bedecked balcony in summer. The room rate includes numerous culinary elements, such as afternoon tea and the 4-course evening menu to suit individual wishes – guests can choose from a range of dishes from the local Baden region as well as dishes based on classic French, Mediterranean or Asian cuisine. The Spa highlight: The Wellness Pavilion, bathed in natural daylight, with indoor and outdoor heated pools, a sauna area, fitness room, several rooms for spa treatments plus a hairdressing salon.
